Swindon overview

If visitors are thinking of driving into Swindon for the first time they may want to prepare themselves for an awkward road layout. The most famous of these are the roundabouts, with one in particular having five mini roundabouts dispersing off a central one. These can be avoided if heading for the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet, home to many designer brands at warehouse prices, by using the outskirt roads and avoiding the city centre signs. The Swindon Steam Railway Museum is a magnet for young and old and depicts the history of railways in the area. If the need is felt to get away from the busy town, there are a number of parks and countryside woodland areas close enough for a quick getaway and these are free from complicated road systems.
