Nottingham overview

Nottingham Travel Guide
The old tale of women outnumbering men here goes back to the 18th and 19th centuries when the Industrial Revolution saw the city boom in the textile market. The fairer sex came from miles around to work in the factories, largely producing lace until the Far East manufacturers undercut the city’s prices. Today, Nottingham is a vibrant maze of shopping mixed with museums, galleries, live entertainment venues and a great nightlife spanning the city centre. Gardens and parks around the city comprise of colourful areas with small lakes and large ponds but with no sign of Robin Hood to help a damsel in distress there are some areas here, as with many large cities, that are best left alone after dark.
