Luton overview

Luton Travel Guide
The town of Luton has been a popular place to head for migrants from across the world. Scottish and Irish were the first to settle and then many Asian families, largely Pakistani. Famous cricketer, Monty Panesar, is one of the great sporting persons this diverse town has produced. With a rich ethnic mixture of cultures there is an abundance of great food, markets and festivals to be enjoyed. Indian curries are a national dish but a biriyani in Luton is as close to the real thing as you can get this side of India! The Mall Arndale was one of the first Americanised shopping malls built in the UK and is still the main commercial district in Luton. The people of Luton are often referred to as Hatters as the hat making industry was once a large sector in the area.
