Heathrow Airport overview

Heathrow Airport Travel Guide
One of the world’s main airports, Heathrow Airport is the UK’s number one airport and is just west of London along the M4. It has five terminals, with number six in the pipeline, and is supremely busy, with all major flag carriers and low-cost airlines represented. Destinations all around the globe are served: with Terminal 1 handling the UK; Terminal 2, flights around Europe; and terminals 3 and 4, European, Transatlantic and long-haul flights. Terminal 5 is solely used by British Airways and serves all over. Facilities are generally good at Heathrow Airport, although this depends on the terminal as terminals 1, 2, and 3 are looking a bit worse for wear in their old age. Revitalisation projects are ongoing, though and wireless internet, ATMs, duty-free shopping, and bars and restaurants are standard. Getting to London is by way of train, the London Underground, coach, shuttle, or taxi.
