Derby overview

Derby Travel Guide
If you’re looking for somewhere to visit in the north Midlands area, you’d be best off heading for Nottingham, or perhaps straight up to the Peak District, as Derby is not the most happening place. Apart from a lofty church spire, a bunch of textile factory World Heritage Sites and a typical English high street scene, there’s not too much else to shout about. A walk along the banks of the River Derwent to Darley Park is quite nice, however, and the town also has some decent shopping and a large helping of pubs; yet which UK town doesn’t! For shopping and drinking, head for Market Place as it has stores, cinemas, restaurants and bars galore. Birmingham International Airport is not far south of Derby.
