Cambridge overview

One of England’s most picturesque towns, Cambridge, best known for its world famous university, is a remarkable place to the north of London and a must-see for any visitor to the UK. Cambridge University goes right back to the 13th century and is the highlight, with its iconic chapels and star professors - Stephen Hawking and Sir Isaac Newton are just two of the big names that come to mind. Gothic structures and museums abound and King's College Chapel, as seen from St Johns, is the finest view. Punting on the Cam is a pastime, as is drinking and chatting with the student fraternity in one of the many ancient, student-centric watering holes. London Stansted is only 30 minutes from Cambridge.
