Bristol Travel Guide
Capital of the West Country and home to the Clifton Suspension Bridge, Bristol, on the Avon, is known for its seafaring history and is usually done on a combined trip with nearby Bath by most tourists. The city is one of England’s most popular destinations and is strewn with marvellous feats of engineering at the hands of brilliant engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The Clifton Suspension Bridge is just one of them. Bristol also has excellent museums and a network of quaint old streets, while its Georgian crescents are similar to those in Bath. Bristol also plays host to a suite of summer festivals and has a pile of markets and a hedonistic night scene. Bristol International Airport receives flights from many European cities.
