Bath Travel Guide
The aptly named university town of Bath in southwest England was established by the ancient Romans on account of its geothermal springs. They still expel hot waters today and although you can’t have a dip at the historical spas, there are several modern spas set up around the city to have a splash at. Bath is one of the UK’s most fanciable cities, even without the spas, as it boasts a mixture of medieval buildings together with stately Georgian town houses, which are best seen at the Royal Crescent. Next to the 2,000-year-old Roman Baths – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – is Bath Abbey, while the famed Pump Room is another must see to sample a tipple of warm spa water. A good helping of shops, eateries and bars also adorns Bath’s high streets.
